Nekritz Could Be Selected as State's Top Auditor
The 57th District representative is a finalist for the state's auditor general position.

Illinois 57th District State Rep. Elaine Nekritz, D-Northbrook is interested in becoming the state’s Auditor General and is one of six finalists to replace longtime sitting Auditor General Bill Holland, according to the Bloomington Pantagraph and Daily Herald reports.
“My years in the General Assembly have given me a very deep and keen understanding of state government,” said Nekritz, who has been in the House since 2003. Holland, who has held the top Auditor job since 1992, is retiring at the end of the year.
Lawmakers will select the next auditor general, which comes with a 10-year term and “the responsibility to regularly investigate Illinois agencies and occasionally take on special auditing tasks such as the call for a probe into operations at the College of DuPage,” according to the Daily Herald.
