New Feature Allows Snapchat Users to Share Sports Scores
Northbrook-based Stats is partnering with Snapchat on providing the updates as filters.

Sports fans on Snapchat will be able to share updated scores with each other thanks to a partnership between Snapchat and Northbrook-based Stats.
Stats, a sports technology company, is working with Snapchat on offering the score updates as filters - location-based visual overlays, according to the Chicago Tribune. The feature was tested Tuesday night during Game One of the World Series, but users then were only able to update each other from inside Kauffman Stadium, the Kansas City Royals’ home and Game One host.
The free feature will only be accessible at select professional sports venues.

“Dynamic Geofilters are a visual and timely way for sports fans to express the here and now of the game in their Snaps,” Ben Schwerin, Snapchat’s director of partnerships, said in a statement.
In the future, Stats hopes to be able to provide statistics on Snapchat in addition to the score updates.
