New Northbrook Police Chief Announced

From the Village of Northbrook: The Village of Northbrook is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger L. Adkins Jr. as Chief of the Northbrook Police Department. Adkins has served with the Northbrook Police Department for over 30 years, most recently as Deputy Chief of Field Operations.

Roger began his career with the Village in 1987, serving as a Patrol Officer. Over the years Adkins has held numerous positions as he worked his way up the ranks including Criminal Investigator and Juvenile Officer in the Investigations Division, Sergeant, Commander, and Deputy Police Chief.

Adkins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois at Chicago and holds an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from Oakton Community College. He graduated from the FBI National Academy International Law Enforcement Leaders Development Program - Session #263 at Quantico, Virginia and the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety. He is a member of the FBI National Academy Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, Illinois Tactical Officers Association and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 173.
