Nordstrom, Marshalls, Neiman Marcus Hit in Retail Theft Incidents: Cops

A slew of burglary to vehicle reports have been made in Northbrook.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A victim in the 1800 block of Janke Dr. reported parking her 2009 Toyota RAV in the parking lot between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Oct. 6. When the victim returned to the vehicle she discovered the rear driver’s side window was shattered and the offenders had removed a large taupe colored purse. The purse contained miscellaneous items.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A victim at the Northbrook Racquet Club in the 2900 block of Dundee Rd. reported that between 6 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 6 she parked her vehicle in the parking lot of the racquet club. When she returned she found the front passenger window of her 2004 Toyota shattered. The offender had stolen the victim’s light beige colored cross body purse with a black wallet inside it which the victim left sitting between the center console of the vehicle. The victim’s wallet contained three credit cards, the victim’s driver’s license and $50.

BURGLARY TO VEHICLE
A victim in the 3400 block of Dundee Rd. reported that between 4:30 and 4:40 p.m. on Oct. 7 an offender reached through an open passenger window and removed her purse. The victim’s purse had been hidden under the front passenger seat while the victim went inside to pick up her child at the daycare facility.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
Brucenyam Jovoo, 52, Chicago was charged with disorderly conduct at 5:59 p.m. on Oct. 7 in the 300 block of Melvin Drive. Witnesses reported that the victim was working underneath a truck when the defendant grabbed the victim’s shirt and pulled him from under the vehicle and started punching him. When officers arrived the parties had separated. The fight apparently arose over a dispute concerning a payroll check the defendant believed was owed to him.

RETAIL THEFT
Rachel S. Morzfeld, 47, Kenosha, Wisc. was charged with retail theft at the Nordstrom store on Skokie Highway at 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 7. The store loss prevention agent observed the defendant remove merchandise from the cosmetics, jewelry and women’s clothing departments and conceal the merchandise in her purse. The defendant then exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The defendant was stopped by store security and the merchandise recovered. The defendant had a total of 47 items of merchandise totaling $895.16.

RETAIL THEFT
Ginger Lee, 40, Chicago was charged with retail theft at the Marshalls store on Skokie Highway at 2:36 p.m. on Oct. 10. The complainant, the store loss prevention agent, reported the defendant was observed in the coat department removing the merchandise tag from a North Face jacket. The defendant wrapped the jacket around her arm and left without paying for the merchandise which was valued at $99.99.

THEFT
A victim at the Highland Bakery in the 2300 block of Shermer Road reported at 9:26 p.m. on Oct. 10 that while he was working an offender removed the lock from his locker and stole his Samsung cell phone. The locker had been secured with a combination lock which was broken during the theft.

THEFT
A victim reported that an offender stole his silver Gary Fisher Nirvana bicycle from the bike rack at the train depot in the 1400 block of Shermer Road. The bicycle was valued at $500. The victim was not certain if the bicycle was secured to the rack with his lock.

RETAIL THEFT
Oyun-Erdene Ganbold, 36, Kirkland, Wash. was charged with retail theft at 6:31 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Neiman Marcus in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. The store loss prevention agents observed the defendant placing merchandise into the seat of a baby stroller. The loss prevention agent also observed the defendant removed a shirt from a rack and put the shirt on herself. When loss prevention stopped the defendant after leaving the store without paying for the merchandise they discovered three shirts, a pair of jeans and a body accessory, valued at over $700.
