Northbrook 10U Baseball Nabs Tournament Title; 14U Goes Down to Lake Forest
The Northbrook (Green) 10U baseball team captured the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League Tournament title Sunday afternoon in Glenview.
After losing in the title game last season, the Northbrook (Green) 10U baseball team was determined to make it happen this summer.
Northbrook lost only two games during the regular season of the Lake Shore Feeder Baseball League (LSFBL). Both losses came at the hands of Wilmette, who went a perfect 14-0 in the regular season. Those two squared off again in the LSFBL tournament title game Sunday, where Northbrook finally got the upper hand, winning 5-1 to capture the league championship.
"We talked about it every day in practice," Northbrook Head Coach Matt Alcorn said. "We tried not to put too much pressure on the kids, but we definitely wanted to win after losing to Glenview in the championship last year."
