Northbrook Among Best Places to Retire: Study

When it comes to retiring in a smaller municipality, few places are better than Northbrook - according to a recent study by a personal finance site.

NerdWallet identified Northbrook as the 14th best small city for retirement based on affordability, local economic strength, transportation options, health care quality and local senior community.

The study considered nearly 1,000 small cities in the United States. Fort Lee, New Jersey garnered the top spot.

In Illinois, Orland Park and Park Ridge also made the top 20.

Highland Park, Arlington Heights, Niles and Downers Grove game Illinois seven of the top 30.
