Northbrook Board Recognizes Dan Kaup

After 14 years of working for the Village of Northbrook, Assistant Village Manager Dan Kaup has accepted the position of Public Works Director at the Village of Brookfield.

In what seemed like a spontaneous addition to the Village Manager's Report during Tuesday's regular Board of Trustees meeting, Richard Nahrstadt snuck in a quick farewell to the departing Assistant Village Manager, Dan Kaup.

"I know this is on the agenda for later on, I don't want to preempt it, but under the Village Manager's Report, I just want to say goodbye Dan, you will be missed," Nahrstadt said.

To commemorate Dan Kaup for his 14 years of service to the Village of Northbrook, first on the public works street crew then as Assistant Village Manager, the village board unanimously passed a recognition resolution and applauded his work. Kaup has accepted the position of Public Works Director at the Village of Brookfield.

"His friendly and approachable demeanor and personality, teamed with his ability to effectively support the citizenry of Northbrook has been invaluable."

Kaup was all smiles as he thanked the board members for their recognition.

"Northbrook is more than just a place that I've worked and lived, it's a community that's very near and dear to me," Kaup said. "I'm taking with me terrific experience, a lot of fond memories and friendships and relationships that are going to last a lifetime."
