The Glenview-Northbrook Coronavirus Task Force has made the decision that all Northfield Township public school districts, as well as Northbrook and Glenview Park Districts and Public Libraries, will close at the end of the day, Friday, March 13, and remain closed until at least March 30.
The safety, health and well being of the citizens of our community are the priority in making this decision. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) continue to encourage prevention measures and caution. We are closing as a public health precaution in response to the recommendations from the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health to avoid crowds in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Schools will be open tomorrow, Friday, March 13, for a regular day of learning and to ensure that students have the devices, materials, and instructions from teachers to prepare for online learning. Libraries and park districts will be open tomorrow as well. Parents will learn more in emails from their school district tomorrow. The libraries and park districts will also be sending out additional messaging with more details for their users.
We will evaluate the situation before Monday, March 30 to determine the status in our community moving forward and share plans with you as they are determined. As communicated previously, all non-essential events, programs, and activities will remain canceled until April 5.
