Northbrook Climate Action Day Connects Residents With Experts

NORTHBROOK, IL — In 2021, the Village of Northbrook established a Sustainability Commission and adopted a Climate Action Plan, which aims for a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and an 80 percent reduction by 2050.

In that vein, the commission will celebrate World Environment Day with the Northbrook Climate Action Day resource fair on Saturday. The fair, which runs all day, will be held behind Village Hall, 1225 Cedar Lane. According to organizers, attendees will have a chance to explore the Village Hall demonstration garden and connect with experts sharing valuable information on sustainability.

In addition, community partners will offer practical tips to make your home, landscape and transportation more sustainable and energy-efficient, adopt sustainable lifestyle practices, and reduce your environmental impact.
