Northbrook Crime: Apple Store Thieves Snatch 29 Items
Northbrook Police blotter: Feb. 10-Feb. 16

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook Police provided the following information as a record of police activities.
DUI/DRUGS
A little after 8:30 p.m. Feb. 10, Northbrook Police responded to the 4000 block of Lake Cook Rd for a report of a vehicle driving erratically. Officers located the occupied auto in a parking lot off Lake Cook Road. In speaking to the driver, a 53-year-old Deerfield man, officers observed a white powdery substance near his left nostril and some residue on his jacket. Officers also detected an odor of alcoholic beverage while speaking to him. Officers believed that he was under the influence and placed him under arrest.

RETAIL THEFT
At 1:30 p.m. on Feb. 11, the loss prevention agent at the Apple Store on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road reported that an employee observed merchandise missing from a display shelf and checked the security camera. The security camera showed two white men came into the Apple Store and removed 29 items from the shelf and placed the merchandise into their coats. Both offenders then left the store without paying for the merchandise. The employees reported the stolen merchandise was valued at $5741.

- One man was described as a man in his 30's, tall, heavy set, brown hair, beard mustache wearing a black parka.
- The second man was a in his 30’s,short, slight build, dark hair, receding hair line, wearing dark brown leather jacket.
THEFT
On Feb. 12 shortly before 7:00 p.m, a victim reported that someone turned in their wallet to the customer service desk at Whole Foods. The victim was contacted and after checking their wallet discovered that $18 was missing but that her identification and credit cards were still in the wallet. The victim believes that she may have dropped the wallet in the parking lot of the shopping complex.
THEFT
On Feb. 10, on the 2400 block of Farnsworth, a worker at a house under construction reported discovering roofing materials stolen from the
job site. The theft occurred between the end of work on Feb. 10 and when they arrived the next day. The worker estimated that 20 rolls of roofing material were stolen with a value of $1400.
