Northbrook Crime: Drivers Arrested For Warrants, Speeding, DUIs

Northbrook police reports: March 24-March 30

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of police activities. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges, which can be dropped or reduced, are merely accusations. All defendants are innocent unless their guilt is established by a court beyond a reasonable doubt.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDING

At 1:15 a.m. on March 28, while conducting radar along Dundee Road officers observed the a 24-year-old Chicago woman driving eastbound on Dundee at 75 mph. Officers stopped the defendant’s vehicle on the 600 block of Dundee and placed the defendant under arrest.

On March 24, just after midnight, while conducting radar patrol in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road police saw a vehicle travelling at 80 mph in a 40 mph speed zone. Officers stopped the vehicle placed the driver, an 18-year-old Chicago woman, under arrest, processed her and she was released after posting bond.

Police arrested a 28-year-old Chicago man after police observed him driving westbound in the 1800 block of Dundee Road and commit several traffic violations. After stopping the vehicle and speaking to the driver officers believed that the defendant was under the influence and placed him under arrest around 9:30 p.m. on March 27.

On March 25, shortly before 3 p.m. a 20-year-old Prospect Heights man was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of cannabis. Police said they believed that he was under the influence when they spoke to him after pulling him over over for speeding.

WARRANTS & SUSPENDED LICENSE

On March 23 at 6:23 a.m., police arrested a 24-year-old Morton Grove man and cited him for expired registration, not having insurance, driving with a suspended license, and detained him on an arrest warrant for failing to appear to a DuPage County court date.

On March 25 at 5:33 p.m., police pulled over a 27-year-old Hanover Park man for a traffic violation. In checking the status of the defendant’s license officers learned that it was suspended by the Secretary of State’s office. In addition officers learned that the man had an active warrant for skipping bond from the Illinois State Police.

SUSPENDED LICENSE

Officers were called to an accident at Meadow Road and Dundee Road at 9:22 a.m. on March 29. While investigating the crash officers learned that a driver, a 26-year-old Waukegan man, had a suspended Illinois driver’s license. He was placed under arrest, processed and released after posting bond.

On March 28 at 10:17 p.m., police arrested a 20-year-old Des Plaines woman and cited her for not having insurance, turning right on a red and driving with a suspended license.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On March 25, sometime between 1 a.m. and 7:43 a.m. someone damaged a window at a gas station on the 800 block of Waukegan Road by throwing a rock at it, the owner told police.
