Northbrook Crime: Hennessy Stolen By Man With Woman and Child, Thefts From GBN, REI
Northbrook police reports: March 31 - April 6

NORTHBROOK, IL — The following information comes from the Northbrook Police Department as a record of police activities. An arrest is not an indication of guilt. Criminal charges are often dropped or reduced. They represent mere accusations. All defendants are innocent unless their guilt is established by a court beyond a reasonable doubt.
BICYCLE SHOPLIFTING
A man stole a Ghost Kato 5 bicycle worth about $2700 from the REI on the 800 block of Willow Road, employees told police. The manager said he walked in around 8:30 p.m. on March 30 and walked around the store for about 10 minutes before stealing the bike. Employees described the man as about 6 foot, two inches, Caucasian with a shaved head and skinny.

WARRANT ARREST
A 20-year-old man, of the 1400 block of Shermer in Northbrook, was arrested at home shortly after 3 p.m. on April 1, when police went to his apartment to arrest him for a bond forfeiture warrant related to a speeding ticket.

SUSPENDED LICENSE
A 32-year-old man, of the 5900 block of North Campbell in Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended license and cited for speeding and not having insurance on April 1 shortly after 4:30 p.m. at Bittersweet and Dundee Roads.
A 35-year-old man, of the 2300 block of West Belmont in Chicago, was arrested for driving with a suspended license on April 2 at 8:10 p.m. after police saw him disobey a traffic signal and pulled him over at Dundee Road and Division.
HENNESSY THEFT
A man, woman and a small child entered a store on the 2700 block of Dundee Road on April 3 at 5:20 p.m. and walked out with a 1.75 liter bottle of Hennessey Cognac valued at $117.99, the store clerk told police. First, the woman spoke to the clerk while the man walked the aisles of the store. The alleged thief then had a brief conversation with the clerk, asking for directions to Lake Cook Road. Later, after reviewing a security camera recording, the clerk realized the man, who he described as a five foot, nine inch 30-year-old Hispanic man, had stashed the bottle in his coat after taking it off the shelf.
VENDING MACHINE THEFTS
On the night of April 5 or early morning of April 6, two vending machines were reported damaged on Skokie Highway. It will cost $150 to repair the damage done when someone broke into a vending machine—stealing $32 in change—located in a basement on the 800 block of Skokie Highway, police were told by the person who reported the damage. It will also cost $150 to repair the damage done when someone broke into a vending machine in a basement on the 600 block of Skokie Highway, this time making off with $18 in quarters.
JACKET SHOPLIFTING
A woman stole three men's Moncler jackets from a Neiman Marcus, worth $2145, on the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, according to a guard from the store. The store employee ran after her but she escaped in a green Chevrolet with a broken rear window and was last seen exiting the parking lot eastbound onto Lake Cook Road on April 5 shortly around 7:00 p.m..
THEFT AT GBN
Someone stole a Samsung cell phone worth $500 and a black Gucci wallet worth $350 with $30 in cash inside from an unlocked gym locker at Glenbrook North High School on April 6 at 3:22 p.m.
