Northbrook Days returns with food, music and fun Aug. 1-5

Village Green Park in Northbrook will soon come alive with the 94^th annual Northbrook Days Festival, which opens Wednesday, Aug. 1 and runs through Sunday.

Carnival games and rides, daily activities for kids like face painting, live music every afternoon and evening, food from local restaurants and vendors, and a beer and wine tent are among the highlights.

Mainstage entertainment highlights includes GBN alumni bands Von Blazer and Off the Record on Thursday night, jam band favorite Mr. Blotto on Friday night and Tributosaurus becoming “The Police” on Saturday night.

Don’t miss the Grand Prize Raffle, which includes nightly prize drawings, culminating with the $20,000 grand prize giveaway Sunday night.

And has it has from the start, this summer tradition benefits the community. Money raised funds need-based college scholarships for local students and grants to local organizations that serve the community. This year’s goal is to raise $75,000, while some past years the total has topped $100,000.
