Northbrook Farmers Market this Wednesday June 22nd 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Opening Day of the Northbrook Farmers Market on June 22nd - Fun activities and shopping at the market!

Taste a slice of summer as the Northbrook Farmers Market 8th season kicks off Wednesday, June 22, in the parking lot of Meadow Plaza, Cherry & Meadow.

The traditional Watermelon-Cutting Ceremony begins at 10 a.m. with a blessing by Northbrook Clergy Association president, followed by Village President Sandy Frum skillfully slicing watermelon for all to enjoy.

After short presentations by other local dignitaries a morning of fun activities for children of all ages, presented by NorthShore University HealthSystem, begins. There are no fees to participate:

· Stop by NorthShore University HealthSystem booth for a free cutting board imprinted with tips on how to make favorite recipes healthier.

· Put your name in the farmer's hat to win a $25 Sunset Foods gift card.

· Sing with Senora fun mini-lessons in Spanish.

· Face-painting by Lindsey.

· RC Juggles twisted balloon creations.

· Music by Northbrook singer-guitarist Steve Zane.

· Visit with Northbrook Police and Fire Department personnel.

Shop the numerous booths for farm fresh produce and other delicious artisan foods. Be sure to check out several new and many returning vendors.
The market is open 7 am. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, June 22 to Oct. 19, rain or shine, except for severe weather.
