NORTHBROOK, IL — A home invasion in Northbrook led to a police chase that ended on the South Side on Friday, according to authorities.
The incident began around 2 p.m. after a reported home invasion at a residence in the 1900 block of Butternut Lane in Northbrook, ABC7 Chicago reported.
A neighbor told the outlet that a person in the house was pistol-whipped by one of several suspects who forced their way into the home.

The suspects fled before police arrived, ABC7 reported.
Around 3 p.m., Illinois State Police located the suspect vehicle driving southbound on Interstate 94 near 75th Street. Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver fled.

According to police, the vehicle eventually stopped, and its occupants fled into a home in the 12000 Block of South Wallace Avenue.
At least four people were taken into custody by police, ABC7 reported.
The incident remains under investigation by police and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
