Northbrook Kids Can Demonstrate Football Skills At Youth Punt, Pass & Kick Challenge
The Northbrook Park District event is intended for children between the ages of 6 and 14.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Park District is bringing back its Youth Punt, Pass and Kick Challenge next month, a football skills competition open to children aged 6 to 14 years old.
The event is set to take place on March 8 at Techny Prairie Park and Fields, located at 1750 Techny Road.
The challenge provides participants with an opportunity to demonstrate their football abilities in a non-contact setting. Children will move through three skill stations, which include punting, passing, and kicking. Scores will be based on both distance and accuracy at each station.

There is no requirement for field goal kicking, making the event accessible for individuals of all skill levels. Participants will compete within specific age divisions. The top performers in each division will be awarded a prize.
"Even though football can feel intimidating for some, events like this help introduce the sport in a simple and exciting way," said Matt Papale, recreation supervisor for NPD. "Kids get the chance to learn the basics, build confidence and enjoy friendly competition, all without needing to make a big commitment."
