Northbrook Library Closed Tuesday Following Highland Park Shooting

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Public Library will be closed Tuesday "due to the tragic event in Highland Park." Six people were killed, and about two dozen people were wounded, ranging in age from 8 to 85, when a gunman opened fire on Highland Park's July 4 parade, authorities said.

"Our thoughts are with families, neighbors, and friends in Highland Park as well as everyone who has been touched by this tragedy. We appreciate your support and thank you for your understanding," the library said in an email to patrons.

All programs scheduled for Tuesday at the library are also canceled.
