Northbrook Man 37, Found Dead; Person In Custody Released: Police

A person was taken to the police station after a death at a mortgage brokerage firm in Northbrook, but police said they have been released.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A 37-year-old man was found dead Monday at a mortgage brokerage office in the 1200 block of Meadow Road. Anatoly Spivak, of Northbrook, had stopped breathing, and resuscitation attempts failed when police arrived at around 12:30 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Spivak's LinkedIn profile states he was a senior loan consultant at the mortgage brokerage firm. A GoFundMe has been set up "to cover funeral expenses and to help get his [Spivak's] family back on their feet after this tragic loss." (GoFundMe is a Patch promotional partner.)

A person was arrested at the scene, according to eyewitnesses. The Northbrook Police Department confirmed with Patch Monday that a person was transported to the police station as part of an investigation, but said no one is currently in custody. There were no signs of violence at the scene, according to police.
