Northbrook Man Charged In 2 Armed Robberies Near Home: Sheriff

The separate incidents occurred on Sunday and Wednesday near Greenleaf Lane, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A Northbrook man has been charged in two separate armed robberies that occurred near his home earlier this week in unincorporated Northfield Township. Devin McCahill, 18, of the 3700 block of Greenleaf Lane, is accused of two counts of felony armed robbery in with a firearm, and was arrested Wednesday.

McCahill is currently in the Cook County Jail and due back in court on July 18.

According to the Cook County Sheriff's Office, the incidents occurred on Sunday and Wednesday, each about a block from McCahill's home. An investigation has revealed that McCahill had connected with two different people through social media apps commonly used to buy, sell, or trade goods. In both incidents, McCahill reportedly met with the victims, robbed them at gunpoint, and fled the scene. The stolen items were valued at approximately $2,000.

McCahill appeared in court on Thursday, where a judge ordered him to be held in custody. The Cook County State's Attorney's Office approved the felony charges.
