Northbrook Man Served Warrant at Train Station: Cops

Damage reported at Techny Prairie Park.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

BURGLARY
At 3:44 a.m. in Nov. 4 in the 1800 block of Holste Road, Northbrook officers responded to burglar alarm at the business. Upon arrival, the officers observed the main entrance door was propped open and a window was broken with the blinds hanging out. The officers located an office inside where a desk drawer had been opened but nothing appeared missing. The business owner arrived and determined that nothing appeared to have been stolen from the business.

WARRANT SERVICE
Lonnie Harris Jr., 20, of the 1500 block of Shermer Road was arrested on a warrant for a violation of conditional release at the Northbrook Train Station at 9:17 p.m. on Nov. 5. While investigating an unrelated incident, an officer made contact with the defendant. In checking, officers learned that the defendant had an outstanding warrant from Cook County for violating the terms of his conditional release.

RETAIL THEFT
The complainant, a loss prevention officer at the Mariano’s in the 700 block of Skokie Highway, at 9:52 p.m. on Nov. 5 observed a white woman on video surveillance entering the store. The offender is observed in the liquor department placing eight bottles of alcohol into a reusable grocery bag and she exits the store. She then enters a light colored Lincoln Town Car and exits the lot. The total value of the alcohol is $249.83.

WARRANT ARREST
Amber Knowles, 24, Round Lake was arrested on a Lake County warrant for identity theft at Waukegan Road and Founders at 8:45 a.m. on Nov. 8. Northbrook officers responded to a report of a fight on Waukegan Rd near Founders Rd. Upon arrival officers located two individuals walking along the roadway matching the description of the involved parties. In checking, officers learned that the defendant had an active outstanding warrant from Lake County for Identity Theft.

DAMAGE TO PARK DISTRICT PROPERTY
A park district employee reported that a soccer goal support post at Techny Prairie Park was bent from what appears to be a person hanging from the goal support beam sometime between 3 p.m. on Nov. 6 and noon on Nov. 7.

RETAIL THEFT
The complainant, the store manager at the Lens Crafters store in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road, reported at 7:56 p.m. on Nov. 8 that a white man entered the store wearing a baseball hat, blue vest, blue Chicago Cubs long sleeve t-shirt and jeans. He looked around the store at various styles of sunglasses. He is captured on video taking multiple sunglasses out and placed them into a pink bag to conceal the items. The offender then leaves the store failing to pay for the merchandise. Stolen were eight pairs of sunglasses with an approximate value of $2,400.

WARRANT ARREST
Rachel S. Marzfeld, 47 was charged on a warrant for retail theft on Nov. 10. Gurnee PD contacted Northbrook PD to report that they had a subject in custody that had an active outstanding warrant for retail theft from Northbrook PD. Northbrook officers transported the defendant back to Northbrook, she was processed and placed in cell pending bond court. The warrant was for a retail theft which occurred on Oct. 7 at Nordstrom’s.
