Northbrook Man Taken Into Custody After Niles Nightclub Shooting Death: Police
A 22-year-old Niles resident, who had a gunshot wound, died following an early Sunday morning incident at Miraj Restaurant and lounge.

NILES, IL — A Niles man is dead and a Northbrook resident is in custody following an early morning incident in the parking lot of a nightclub at Miraj Restaurant.
Mark Asber, 22, was pronounced dead at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge following the incident, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Niles police found Asber lying down at around 1:03 a.m. in the parking lot at 8801 N. Milwaukee Ave. Police said Asber had at least one gunshot wound and officers immediately began lifesaving measures before taking him to the hospital.
Police believe the incident is isolated, with no threat to the community.

A 25-year-old Northbrook man, deemed a suspect by police, was taken into custody at the scene of the incident. An ongoing investigation revealed that the victim and suspect were acquainted with each other prior to this incident, according to an update from police on Monday.
