Tom Chao-An Hsieh, age 82, of Northbrook, IL and formerly of Palatine IL, died peacefully in his sleep on June 6, 2015. He is survived by beloved wife Betty, son Evan and his wife Hannah, of Deerfield, IL, daughter Jeanne and her husband Mike, of Shoreview MN, and 5 grandsons, Ethan, Caedon, Jairon, Owen, and Austin. Born and raised in Fujian, China, he emigrated to the United States for graduate school at the University of Minnesota. For over 30 years, he was employed as a structural engineer in various firms in North Dakota and Illinois. He was an active member at North Shore Chinese Christian Church in Deerfield, Illinois, where he served as a long-time Sunday School teacher. He loved to play tennis and travel, and was well-loved for his wise teaching, gentle spirit, and warm smile. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 10, starting with a Visitation from 10:00am to 1:00pm, Memorial Service at 1:00pm, followed by Interment and Reception. Visitation and Memorial Service will take place at North Shore Chinese Christian Church, 1250 Waukegan Road, Deerfield Illinois.
