Northbrook Park District Day Returns To Farmers Market
The June 24 event will feature games, prizes, a scavenger hunt and free swag at the weekly farmers market.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Park District and Northbrook Farmers Market are teaming up for the second year in a row to offer Park District Day at the market.
The event is scheduled for June 24 and will feature games, prizes, a scavenger hunt and free swag for visitors.
The Northbrook Farmers Market, now in its 17th year, runs from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays from June 17 through Oct. 14 in Meadow Plaza, at Cherry Lane and Meadow Road.

Northbrook Park District Communications and Engagement Manager Deanna Angelini Johann said the partnership reflects a shared focus on community wellbeing.
“I joined the Park District earlier this year, and I am excited to continue to build connections and be out in the community, especially for an event as wholesome as the Northbrook Farmers Market,” Johann said. “We will have great swag to share with anyone who visits our booth, including our annual tote bag, while supplies last.”

Farmers Market Manager Dale Duda said the community responded well to last year’s first Park District Day.
“There was such a good response that this year we will have two tables for Park District fun,” Duda said. “The Park District does fun very well. People are always asking me, ‘What is the Park District bringing this time?’”
The market, which last year was chosen by WBEZ and the Chicago Sun-Times as one of 15 Chicago-area markets “worth a visit,” showcases vendors within a 150-mile radius of Northbrook.
“That is a pretty tight radius for a market, which means you are really getting fresh, local produce,” Duda said. “Not all markets are as particular as we are about that. You have to ask the questions — verify where the produce is coming from and how it’s grown.”
This year, the market will feature more than 20 vendors, some on a rotating basis so shoppers can find different offerings from week to week, Duda said.
The market will welcome first-time vendor Ellis Family Farm, a six-generation family farm in Benton, Michigan. Longtime vendor Skibbe Farms will not be present after the unexpected death of its owner, Duda said.
Each week, the Farmers Market will also host a community nonprofit and a business member of the Northbrook Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Park District Day is sponsored by Bond Orthodontics.
Other special days planned for the 2026 Farmers Market season include:
