Northbrook Park District Opens Spring, Summer Program Registration
Registrations for various spring and summer programs, classes, and special events for all ages are now available.

NORTHBROOK, IL — The Northbrook Park District has opened registration for its spring and summer programming.
Youth leagues include lacrosse for boys in kindergarten through eighth grade, beginning March 16. Soccer for children in pre-kindergarten through sixth grade starts April 11. Girls' lacrosse, featuring under-8 and under-14 teams, will begin on April 14.
Adult sports offerings include pickup basketball starting April 8 and pickup soccer starting March 26. Softball leagues, with both coed and men's options, will begin in early May.

Special events for residents and nonresidents are also scheduled. These include Brunch with the Bunny on April 11, MLB Pitch, Hit and Run on April 24, and Spring Tea on May 2. The Punt, Pass and Kick Challenge, a football skills competition for children ages 6 to 14, returns on March 8. The new Dodgeball Duos Night takes place March 14, allowing parents and children to team up for a friendly competition and pizza.
The Northbrook Park District operates two pools. Meadowhill Aquatic Center will open May 23, and Northbrook Sports Center Pool opens June 6. Summer pool passes are available for purchase, with early bird savings ending May 6.

Children ages 4-6 can participate in Safety Town Week from May 26-29. This program teaches pool safety, traffic safety, street crossing, and bicycle safety within miniature city streets. Participants also learn about fire safety and using 911.
Northbrook Theatre, part of the Park District, will present "High School Musical 2 Jr." by the Northbrook Theatre Youth Company on April 11-12. Auditions for the all-ages cast of "Freaky Friday" by Northbrook Community Theatre are on March 18. Auditions for "Head Over Heels (High School Edition)" by Northbrook Theatre Teen Company are scheduled for July 6.
Summer camp options for children ages 3 to 14 are available from June through August. These include arts, theater, dance, chess, lacrosse, soccer, swimming, skateboarding, ice skating, hockey, and golf. Half-day camps are for ages 3 to 5, and full-day camps are for ages 5 to 14. Many camps offer weekly attendance options, and extended care features morning and afternoon sessions.
Teenagers ages 14-15 can join the Counselor in Training program in June and July. Participants gain experience and leadership skills by assisting staff with daily activities and leading games and crafts at camps for ages 5-7.
