Northbrook Police Participating In National Drug Take Back Day
Bring unused prescription drugs to the Northbrook Police Department during the event.
NORTHBROOK, IL — Like it did in April, the Northbrook Police Department is participating in the upcoming 2023 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. The event is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Northbrook Police Department, 1401 Landwehr Road.
Residents with unused prescription drugs in their medicine cabinets can drop them off, but needles and inhalers will not be accepted. Police are asking people who drop off prescription drugs to place them in a Ziploc bag.
The nationwide effort is spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration and local police departments. Here are some of the numbers nationally for April's event:

"We share the DEA’s commitment in encouraging the public to remove any unneeded medications to prevent medication misuse," the Northbrook Police Department said in a social media post. "We want to educate individuals on the importance of disposing any unwanted, unused, or expired prescriptions safely and anonymously."
