While SarahAnne Sutter has been very active in opera, operettas, and musical theatre, July's production of "The Sound of Music" will mark her first appearance on the stage of The Summer Place, Naperville's community theatre since 1966.

Unlike the movie, in the stage performance, Elsa has two songs with Max, manager of the von Trapp Family Singers. Sutter's extensive background and natural talent work well with Reed Pence who also has experience in opera and the audience is in for a real treat!

Katherine Damisch and Matt Whalen are the governess, Maria, and Captain von Trapp and they are joined by seven young local actors who play the von Trapp children. Veteran singers and actors round out the rest of the cast and all are supported by a 26 piece orchestra.
