Northbrook's Albert Chafetz, Former WW2 Pilot, Died Wednesday

A funeral for the retired World War 2 and Korean conflict pilot will be held on Monday in Norridge.

Albert Chafetz, of Northbrook, died on Wednesday. He was 92.

Chafetz was a retired United States Arms Forces Major Senior Pilot during World War 2 and the Korean conflict.

He was the beloved husband and best friend of Ellyn nee Padnos. Loving father of Richard (Galina) Wendy, Terri (Daniel) Herzog, proud grandfather of Jacob, Emily, Melissa, Sam and Charlie.

Brother to Norman and Darlene Padnos, loving uncle and friend too many.

A Service will be held for family only on Monday, Dec. 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Westlawn Mausoleum Chapel, 7801 W.Montrose in Norridge, with interment to follow at the cemetery.
