NORTHBROOK, IL — Charges have been filed against a 16-year-old Northbrook boy in connection with last month's reported shooting near the center of the village, police announced Friday. Allegations that the teen fired a gun during a fight resulted in four charges in juvenile court.

Officers were called around 7:15 p.m. May 21 about a dispute in the 1500 block of Shermer Road, where they were told one of the people involved had shot a gun two to four times, according to Deputy Chief Dan Strickland. Officers determined a shooting did take place, he said.

Investigators got search warrants for a residence where the incident occurred and a vehicle used by the person charged, Strickland said. No firearms or shell casings were found, he said, but witnesses described the gun as a revolver, which would not leave any casings behind.
