Northbrook's Westmoor School Welcomes New Principal Mitch Dubinsky
Mitch Dubinsky, a District 28 parent and experienced educator, will take over as Westmoor School principal on July 1.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook's District 28 Board of Education approved the appointment of Mitch Dubinsky as the next principal of Westmoor School during its regular meeting on Feb. 24. Dubinsky will assume his new role on July 1, succeeding Maria Eck, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
According to the district, Dubinsky brings 25 years of experience in education. He has held leadership positions at both school and district levels and is also a parent within District 28. His selection followed a comprehensive search that included community feedback, administrative interviews, and input from a parent/teacher interview team.
"The Westmoor community identified that they wanted someone who is student-centered, someone who shows warmth, humor, and interest in others, and someone who demonstrates excellent communication skills," said Dr. Jason Pearson, superintendent of school adding that Dubinsky possess these qualities.

Before joining District 28, Dubinsky served as an elementary school principal for 15 years in Community Consolidated School District 89. His previous roles include assistant principal and bilingual/ELL Coordinator in River Trails District 26. He began his career as an elementary school teacher in East Maine School District 63.
Dubinsky holds a master’s degree in Reading Literacy from Northern Illinois University. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Northeastern Illinois University.
