NSYMCA Offers Sound Bath Experiences to Support Community Well-Being

New Sound Baths on Floating and on Land offer opportunities for relaxation, mindfulness and connection

Northbrook, IL — September 2026 — The North Suburban YMCA is continuing to expand opportunities for community well-being with upcoming Sound Bath experiences designed to help participants relax, recharge and reconnect with themselves.

Sound Bath is a guided meditative experience where participants are immersed in calming tones and vibrations produced by instruments such as crystal singing bowls and gongs. Sound Baths can promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, support emotional balance and provide an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life.

The NSYMCA will offer both a unique Floating Sound Bath experience in the Y’s pool and Sound Bath on Land sessions. Participants are invited to engage at their own comfort level, and no prior meditation experience is necessary. The classes are open to 18+ and older.
