Pair Teamed to Steal Sunglasses From Store: Police

Man banned from chain gets trespassing charge.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

SUSPENDED REGISTRATION

Anastasia D. Damato, 27, 2215 Valencia was stopped at Pfingsten and Willow roads at 10:23 p.m. on March 25 and was cited for suspended registration. An officer stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation. In checking the status of the license plate officers learned that it had been suspended by the Secretary of State.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE

Blanca Isela Vargas, 45, Wheeling was stopped at Voltz and Waukegan roads at 8:27 p.m. on March 21 and cited for driving while license suspended. The defendant’s vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. The officers learned that the defendant’s driver’s license was suspended by the Secretary of State.

UNDERAGE CONSUMPTION OF ALCOHOL

Two Chicago teenagers were charged with illegal transportation of alcohol, consumption of alcohol and improper lighting at 12:25 a.m. on March 22 when they were stopped at Willow and Greenwood roads. The defendant’s vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation. Officers found the vehicle’s occupants in possession of an open bottle of alcohol.

WARRANT ARREST

Raymundo Ramirez, 34, Chicago was stopped at Dundee and Midway roads at 3:24 a.m. on March 22 and charged with having no valid driver’s license and improper lane usage. The defendant’s vehicle was stopped by officers for a traffic violation. In checking the defendant’s driver’s license status, officers learned that DuPage County had an active warrant for the defendant.

RETAIL THEFT

Tamara Petrova, 65, Wheeling was charged with retail theft at 12:42 p.m. on March 21 in the 800 block of Willow Road. A store loss prevention agent detained the defendant after she attempted to leave the store without paying for $51.11 in merchandise.

RETAIL THEFT

A complainant, the store manager in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Rd., reported a male offender in his twenties approximately six foot tall, stole a black Stuart Weitzman wallet valued at $295 from the store without paying for the merchandise from 12:23-12:30 p.m. on March 20. The business surveillance cameras captured the theft on video.

TRESPASSING

Victor Shilov, 71, Wheeling was charged with trespassing at 6:07 p.m. on March 20 in the 4100 block of Dundee Rd. The store’s loss prevention agent recognized the defendant from a previous retail theft at their Arlington Heights store. The complainant reported that the defendant was advised in court that he was not allowed to enter any of their company stores and produced a copy of the trespass notice signed by the defendant from that previous case.

RETAIL THEFT

Mikhail Lyubarenko, 57 and Olga Katyushina, 50 - both of Riverwoods - were chared with retail theft at 6:37 p.m. on March 20 in the 100 block of Skokie Blvd. The store loss prevention agent reported that he observed the two defendant’s at a display counter trying on sunglasses. He observed the male offender attempting to remove the price tag from several glasses. After the male offender removed the tags from a pair of $99 sunglasses he handed them to the female offender who placed them on top of her head. Both offenders stopped by security after walking past the last point of purchase.
