Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Metra Train In Northbrook

The Friday night incident involving a 60-year-old Northbrook resident occurred at Anets Drive and Techny Road.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A 60-year-old Northbrook man was killed late Friday night after being struck by a Metra train near Anets Drive and Techny Road. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at 11:26 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, six minutes after the incident was reported.

The man's identity has not been released as of this time.

Metra trains experienced extensive delays following the incident. Train No. 2157, scheduled to arrive in Fox Lake at 12:27 a.m., remained stopped near the scene more than an hour after the incident occurred.
