Glenbrook North Added To List Of Northbrook Schools Closed Friday

NORTHBROOK, IL — Add Glenbrook North to the growing list of Chicagoland area schools closed Friday due to the snowstorm. With upwards of 8 inches predicted in some areas, "travel could be very difficult to impossible,"according to the National Weather Service.

In a social media post Friday morning, Glenbrook North said, "Due to worsening road conditions this morning, District 225 is canceling school and postponing finals for Jan. 12, 2024. More info regarding today's finals will be provided at a later time. As a reminder, all athletics/activities are canceled unless notified by coaches/sponsors."

• Countryside Day School
• Gertrude Nielsen Child Care & Learning Center

In Northbrook, snow is predicted to start after 1 a.m. Friday. NWS predicts winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

For Friday, snow could be heavy at times, mixing with rain throughout the day. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches is possible, according to NWS, with another 2 to 4 inches predicted for Friday night. Winds gusts could get as high as 35 mph.
