Popular 'Wake Up, Brother Bear!' Returns To Northbrook Park District

The show for children will run Oct. 29 through Nov. 12 at the Little Theatre in the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Last spring, the Northbrook Theatre for Young Audiences performed, "Wake Up, Brother Bear!" The response to the show for children ages 5 and up was so well-received that it's returning this fall.

The 40-minute production, which has no intermission, will run Oct. 29 through Nov. 12 at the Little Theatre in the Leisure Center, 3323 Walters Ave.

"'Wake Up, Brother Bear!" engages all audience members to experience theater as active participants, contributing to the magic of live storytelling" Drew Kambach, Northbrook Park District performing arts supervisor, said. "Our hope is to inspire a new generation of theater lovers among our youngest community members."

The interactive show will have audiences watch a waterfall melt, meet a butterfly, chase an elusive fish and skate on an icy pond. Children are invited to join the action to help create an "enchanting experience," according to the park district.

Officials said advanced ticket purchases are recommended. Paired tickets (child and adult) can be purchased for $25. General tickets are $15. For group tickets, contact dkambach@nbparks.org.
