Property Owner Wants Boat Dealership in Northbrook

Idea surfaces to attract boat dealership to Skokie Boulevard site.

A Bannockburn man has a vision to see a boat dealership on a 3-acre tract of land he owns in the 1800 block of Skokie Boulevard in Northbrook.

Jamal Alwatter, who has never sold boats but has owned them for years, would also store boats outdoors, “stacked three deep in a new building,” according to the Northbrook Star.

Alwattar’s initial plans include keeping two of the five buildings he currently owns on the lot and replace three with an outdoor boat storage area and showroom and indoor storage building, with a boat service area.
