Resident Barricades Self During Mental Health Crisis: Northbrook PD
The Tuesday incident prompted a response from the North Northern Illinois Police Alarm System.
NORTHBROOK, IL — A resident experiencing a mental health crisis, who was barricaded inside their home, was taken to an area hospital Tuesday afternoon after emergency personnel provided immediate care.
Following an investigation, Northbrook police determined there is no danger to the community and it was an isolated incident.
Police responded to an apartment complex in the 3000 block of Pheasant Creek Drive at around 3:38 p.m. for a well-being check of someone experiencing a mental health crisis. The person was found barricaded inside their residence, which prompted a swift and coordinated response from the North Northern Illinois Police Alarm System, who successfully established contact with the person. Emergency personnel provided immediate care to the person, and they were taken to a local hospital for further treatment.
