Resident Returns Home to Find Bedrooms Ransacked
Shermer Road business robbed by man who need tow truck.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
BURGLARY
Officers responded to a report of a burglary in the 2300 block of Oak Ave. at 2 p.m. on July 31. Upon arrival officers were met by the resident who reported that she just returned home to find the front door damaged. Officers discovered the bedrooms had been ransacked. The victim will determine the items stolen and contact detectives later with a list of missing items.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A victim in the 3900 block of Dundee Road reported that she was out of town from July 31st thru August 3rd. After arriving home the victim discovered jewelry was missing from places she had stored it. In checking her residence she discovered a small slit cut in the screen door and the sliding glass door had pry marks. The homeowner will supply a detail list of the items stolen at a later date to investigators.

ROBBERY
A store employee in the 1300 block of Shermer Road reported that a M/W, 5’11” to 6’0 , bald, in his 40’s, with a tattoo on his right bicep entered the store and said that that he needed to use the phone because his wife was in an accident. The employee gave the subject the store phone to use. After hanging up he said he needed $185 for a tow truck. The offender then came around the counter and pushed the employee who gave him the money. Offender fled the store southbound. Responding police units checked the area but were unable to locate the offender.
AGGRAVATED DUI
Dagva Purevnanzad, 58, Skokie was charged with aggravated DUI and failure to reduce speed at 7:04 p.m. on August 3 at Sanders Road and Commercial Ave. The defendant was involved in an auto accident on Sanders Rd near Commercial Ave. The defendant’s vehicle rear ended another vehicle stopped in traffic. Officers on the scene investigating the crash determined that the defendant was under the influence. The defendant and his passenger were transported to local hospitals for injuries sustained in the crash. Investigating officers contacted the Cook County ASA felony review who approved felony charges against the defendant based on the injuries sustained by his passenger.
