RETAIL THEFT
Michael W. Ryan, 57 and Martha L. Sutton, 62 - both of Wheeling - were charged with retail theft at 1:57 p.m. on February 28. The loss prevention agent observed the defendant’s changing price tags on items of merchandise. The defendant, Ryan, was found by officers to have an item in his pocket which he had not been purchased. Both defendants were issued local ordinance citations and released.

PEDESTRIAN HIT
Kenneth T. Davis, 58, 2940 Moon Hill was charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, DUI alcohol and drugs at Western Ave. and Center St. at 3:11 p.m. on March 2. The defendant’s vehicle struck a pedestrian that was running along the curb of the roadway. Northbrook FD paramedics responded but did not transport the runner to the hospital. Responding officers determined that the defendant was under the influence and placed him under arrest. Officers transported the defendant to the PD where he was processed and released on bond.

SUSPENDED DRIVER’S LICENSE
Brittany J. Harlin, 23, Bolingbrook was stopped at Landwehr Rd. and Walters Ave. at 6:32 p.m. on March 4 and charged with having a suspended driver’s license. Officers stopped the defendant’s vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer learned the vehicle’s registration was suspended by the Secretary of State. Officers also determined that the vehicle’s driver had a suspended Illinois driver’s license.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Officers responded to an activated burglar alarm at a residence in the 700 block of Carlyle Ct. at 6:54 p.m. March 2. They observed the front door had visible pry marks and had been forced open. The officers entered the residence to check for offenders but none were located. It appeared that the offenders had entered the residence went into one of the bedrooms in an attempt to locate valuables. The homeowner arrived home having been notified by his alarm company of the alarm activation and checked his residence but discovered that nothing had been taken by the offenders.
THEFT
A victim in the 3400 block of Tamarind Drive related that she discovered a diamond ring missing from her jewelry box. The victim determined that the last time she observed it was within a two week time period. Officers are investigating.
