Shoppers Fall Victim to Burglaries to Vehicles: Northbrook PD

Shoppers at Saks Off Fifth and Northbrook Court have come back to their cars to find the doors open.

NORTHBROOK, IL - Northbrook police responded to area shopping centers for three burglary to vehicle calls on the Sunday that followed Black Friday.

Police were called to the 100 block of Skokie Highway near the Saks Off 5th store. First, at 8:30 p.m. it was reported that a victim discovered his vehicle standing open and that someone had searched through his auto’s compartments. Nothing appeared to be missing.

Around the same time, another victim reported that a door of his 2002 Chevrolet SUV was standing open and a pair of sunglasses and personal papers were missing from the vehicle.

About 30 minutes before that, a victim outside Northbrook Court reported that he returned to his car and discovered the driver side door standing open and a bag and box of personal items stolen.

Police could not find any evidence of forced used on the doors in any of the incidents.
