Strip Mall Loses Power After Semi Hits Pole
13 businesses on Dundee Road could be without power throughout the weekend.

All businesses part of a strip mall in the 2800 block of Dundee Road in Northbrook are likely to be without power all weekend after a semi-truck hit a pole, which ripped out all the service lines.
The truck’s trailer struck a low-hanging non-electric utility line attached to a pole, which hit the cable hard and long enough to snap it - causing a power outage at all 13 businesses around 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to the Northbrook Star.
The pole toppled onto the semi’s box trailer and broke again.
