Student-Run Glenbrook North Newspaper Receives Award
Torch recently competed in the Northern Illinois School Press Association's Newspaper Contest.

NORTHBROOK, IL — Torch, the student-run newspaper of Glenbrook North High School, recently received an award from the North Illinois School Press Association.
As part of the organization's annual newspaper contest, Torch competed in the Overall Category, earning the Golden Eagle Award for Overall Excellence in Journalism. Historically, according to Glenbrook High School District 225, the Golden Eagle has been awarded to the top three newspapers in each division.
Jenna Amusin is the Torch editor-in-chief and Rachel Cha is the managing editor.

According to the newspaper's website, Torch is published by the newspaper classes of Glenbrook North High School. Content is determined entirely by the staff and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of Glenbrook North High School’s faculty, administration or student body. Its mission statment is: “Glenbrook North High School is a learning community dedicated to students and committed to quality of thought, word and deed.”
