Techny Prairie Activity Center Waives Enrollment Fees Through September

NORTHBROOK, IL — New members can join the Northbrook Park District’s Techny Prairie Activity Center without paying an enrollment fee through the end of September.

The fitness facility, which celebrated its fifth anniversary this year, is waiving enrollment fees for all new members through Sept. 30.

Techny Prairie Activity Center features two group fitness studios, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, an elevated indoor walking track with nature views and open gym times for basketball, pickleball and volleyball.

Group fitness classes are included with membership, with more than 50 options offered each week. Classes include Mat Pilates, Zumba, Tai Chi, Barre Sculpt, Yogalates, Cardio Blast & Core, Essentrics, Walk and Tone and Bootcamp.

Members also receive discounts on specialty workshops and classes.

Upcoming offerings include Strong Steps: A Fall Prevention Workshop on Sept. 26, a Pelvic Floor Workshop on Oct. 10, OsteoFit Fusion from Oct. 7-Nov. 11 and Fit Fore Golf from Nov. 6-Dec. 11.

Membership options include youth, teen, adult and senior categories, along with indoor track-only memberships for ages 15 and older.

Youth memberships are available for ages 11-12 for use of the walking track and open gym when accompanied by an adult. Teen memberships are available for ages 13-17 and require completion of the Strong Teen program.

Adult memberships are for ages 18-64, while senior memberships are available for those 65 and older.
