Teen Carjacker Tells Woman He Has Weapon: Northbrook P.D.

The Sunday evening incident occurred in the 900 block of Willow Road, according to police.

NORTHBROOK, IL — A woman had her car stolen Sunday night by a male who said he had a weapon in the 900 block of Willow Road. The case of aggravated vehicular hijacking occurred at around 6:30 p.m., according to police.

A suspect, described as being in his teens by the victim, told the woman he had a weapon and demanded the vehicle. The victim said her car window had been left open and believes that is how the suspect was able to enter it.

The victim, who surrendered her keys, was not injured during the incident.

The suspect then fled the area in the stolen car at a high rate of speed. The car was located a short time later by the Chicago Police Department, where the suspect attempted to evade police and ultimately crashed the vehicle in the 7100 block of South Wentworth Avenue. He then fled the vehicle on foot in an unknown direction.
