Timeless Holiday Classic 'A Christmas Story' Opens Soon In Northbrook
The play will start its run Dec. 13 at the Northbrook Park District's Northbrook Theatre.

NORTHBROOK, IL — "A Christmas Story" has been a must-see movie every Christmas, but seeing it as a play can also be a fun choice. It will begin its run next week, opening Dec. 13 at Nortbrook Theatre.
The play is based on the humorous writings of author Jean Shepherd and the 1983 movie. It was adapted by Philip Grecian.
The story centers on young Ralphie, who gets into charming holiday misadventures while determined to show his parents, teacher and Santa that a BB gun is the perfect Christmas present.

According to the Northbrook Park District, the production's cast involves members of six different families."
"'A Christmas Story' has been entertaining American families over the holiday season for over 40 years," Northbrook Park District Performing Arts Supervisor Melody DeRogatis said. "Our community theatre program offers a unique opportunity for families to partake in a production together, and this experience is even more special when we get to recreate a story enjoyed by many families across generations."

Performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13; 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 14; and at 12 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. Tickets are $15.
