'Tis the season to be of service to our veterans in need

Northbrook Illinois-based United Relief Foundation's 'Tis the Season of Service campaign has begun with a luncheon honoring veterans hosted by the National Women Veterans United at their headquarters in Chicago.

This year's 'Tis the Season of Service campaign is providing a lifeline of hope and help to female veterans with children as well as female and male veterans who are homeless or experiencing food insecurity.

"With women veterans, in general, facing significant economic and housing challenges and veterans who are single mothers being particularly vulnerable, efforts like 'Tis the Season of Service are needed now more than ever," commented National Women Veterans United founder/president and Army Veteran Rochelle Grump.

The 'Tis the Season of Service campaign continues until December 31, distributing hygiene products, winter clothing items, and other health and wellness necessities depending on each veteran's needs.

Helping veterans during their time of need also makes a lasting difference by providing our veterans hope, knowing they have not been forgotten, which assists them on a path of self-reliance.

In addition to tributes to the veterans attending the luncheon, the National Women Veterans United presented the United Relief Foundation's president, Frank Salato, with their 2023 Partnership Award for "Unwavering Support of Military Women Veterans."
