Tools Stolen From Huehl Rd. Residence: Police
Loaner car reported damaged in another incident.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Officers discovered that the mailbox at an address in the 3400 block of Whirlaway had been knocked off of its stand and was lying in the middle of the street.

THEFT
The complainant reported at 1:28 p.m. in the 1000 block of Galway Court discovering two watches missing from a bedroom in the residence. He related that in the past two months they have had workmen in the residence but he does not know if it’s related to the missing jewelry. The value of watches is approximately $1400.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
Andrew R. Ripley, 50, Park Ridge was stopped in the 1300 block of Shermer Rd. at 5:44 p.m. on January 10 and issued a local ordinance citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. When stopped for a traffic violation (improper lane usage), officers could smell a mild odor of burnt cannabis.
THEFT
A homeowner in the 2500 block of Maple Ave. related that offenders removed the mailbox from the siding of his house next to his front entrance door at 6:49 p.m. on January 10. The resident checked the area near the porch and was unable to locate the mailbox. The homeowner reported that there have been previous issues with vandalism at their home.
BURGLARY
A complainant reported at 8:08 a.m. on January 12 in the 300 block of Huehl Rd. that offenders cut the hasp mechanism on the side door of the company’s utility trailer. The complainant believes that 15 power tools were stolen in the burglary.
BURGLARY
A homeowner in the 1-10 block of The Court of North Center related that from 2:30-5 p.m. on January 11 that they arrived home and noticed that the front door frame was damaged. The door appeared to have been forced open. The victims discovered that sterling silver silverware, jewelry and approximately $200 cash along with a suitcase were missing from the residence. The total loss was estimated at $2,300.
THEFT
The complainant related at 6:21 p.m. in the 1100 block of Meadow Rd. that her debit card had been stolen. The complainant checked her debit card account and noticed several purchases made using her debit card. The complainant notified her bank that her debit card had been stolen and informed them of eight purchases totaling about $364.60 made without her knowledge. Investigators are following up.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
The complainant related at 8:41 a.m. on January 14 in the 3900 block of Medford Ln. that she discovered that the dealership loaner car she was using would not start and that the glove compartment was damaged and lying on the passenger side floor. Officers determined that the air bag is located in the dash below glove box. The officer observed that the airbag was still in the vehicle but the wires behind the glove box had been unplugged in an attempt to remove the device.
