Tuesdays in the Park Summer Concert Series Released For Northbrook

Tuesdays in the Park runs from June 24 to Aug. 5, each concert featuring a children's performer at 6:30 p.m. and a main band at 7:15 p.m.

NORTHBROOK, IL — With summer set to begin this week, local music fans will be happy to know the free summer concert series, "Tuesdays in the Park," will also soon be back. The Northbrook Park District series will run from June 24 to Aug. 5, each concert featuring a children’s performer at 6:30 p.m. and a main band at 7:15 p.m.

Among this year's Tuesdays in the Park first-timers is Blue Rose Band, based in Glenview.

"We're very excited about performing this summer, especially since we are a neighbor," lead
singer Jori Griffith said. "We love outdoor summer concerts and playing for families and friends
in the community. It's such a great way to get outside and enjoy the summer months while
connecting with others around music."

June 24

Local Northbrook musician Ben Tatar will charm young audiences by playing multiple
instruments and performing a multitude of catchy songs. Then, Billy Elton will have the audience on its feet singing along to such classics as "Crocodile Rock," "Only the Good Die Young," "Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting," "Piano Man" and many others in a show exciting for all ages.

July 1

Miss Jamie's Farm and her puppet friends will have the little ones singing, dancing, laughing and learning. Miss Jamie shares values from life down on the farm through songs both new and familiar. Then, Generation brings it all to the stage from Beatles to Stones, Bowie to Led Zeppelin, and Aretha to Sly Stone.

July 8

Istvan and His Imaginary Band will present a wonderfully memorable rock concert for the whole family, with cleverly crafted songs that teach important lessons. Then, country rock/Americana band Blue Rose will take the stage with their original music, described as "relatable emotive story-telling with an edge."

July 15

Grammy nominated Nanny Nikki will bring zest to classic children’s songs with a sprinkling of original music and puppets that will get the crowd to dance and sing along. Then, funk band No Turn On Red will deliver "thick killer grooves" with an injection of New Orleans brass band flare. The band’s influences include the Meters, Rebirth Brass Band, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, The Dirty Dozen, Galactic and Stevie Wonder.

July 22

Todd Downing Tall Tales & Silly Songs will tell some real whoppers and weave them into lively songs that will have everyone moving, grooving and laughing. Then, Shout Out will deliver high energy, non-stop performances, bringing the party with everyone’s favorite music.

July 29

Whether she’s singing about Ube, a Filipino purple yam, or about spring, Little Miss Ann will
inspire kids to let their own light shine. Then, Johnny Russler and the Beach Bum Band combine the sounds of tropical rock, reggae, surf and calypso, bringing a fun and danceable sound that appeals to all ages.

Aug. 5

Jeanie B! will perform an interactive show jammed-packed with dancing, sing-a-longs and
plenty of silliness. Then, One Night Band will keep the dance floor packed with Top 40s hits, Motown music, 80s music, hip hop, slow jams, reggae, country, soul and more.
