Ukraine Donation Scam: Northbrook Police Warn Residents

NORTHBROOK, IL — While many Americans are finding legitimate ways to donate money to war-ravaged Ukraine, scammers are also out in full force. In a social media post, the Northbrook Police Department is warning residents to be aware of an email claiming to be the “Northbrook Fire Department Emergency Planning Fund” requesting donations in support of Ukraine, as no such organization exists.

Police said it is a scam and is advising residents to not provide any personal or financial information to this email group.

"Please pass this information along to friends, family, and neighbors," the social media post concludes.
