Velocitel Becoming 'Wireless Giant'
Northbrook company recently purchased FDH and Stainless, which specialize in cell tower construction.

A pair of recent acquisitions have made Velocitel, a Northbrook-based company, a wireless giant - according to Crain’s Chicago Business.
Now known as FDH Velocitel, the company recently bought North Carolina-based FDH, which “specializes in engineering and structural modification of cell towers.” Just this week, they also acquired Stainless, one of the nation’s oldest engineering firms when it comes to the construction of wireless towers.
FDH Velocitel, now with more than 750 employees, has grown from about $15 million in revenue in 2000 to $300 million today. Revenue had tripled in the past four years before the FDH and Stainless deals.
