Woman Caught Stealing $6K Worth of Shirts From Nieman Marcus: Cops

A wallet was reported stolen from a car parked at Glenbrook North High School.

The following information is from the Northbrook Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

RETAIL THEFT
Witnesses reported that a male, medium height and weight entered the Old Navy store in the 1-100 block of Skokie Highway at 1:32 p.m. on Sept. 30 and grabbed an arm full of merchandise before fleeing the business without paying for the merchandise. Stolen were several shirts, baseball jackets and hooded vests valued at $330. The offender was observed entering a red, mid-sized vehicle which drove onto Skokie Highway after leaving the parking lot.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
A victim at Glenbrook North High School stated he parked his car near the football practice field at 5 p.m. on Sept. 22 and had left his wallet on top of the center console. At 7 p.m. when he returned to his vehicle the wallet was missing. The victim was not certain if he locked his vehicle but officers could not locate any signs of force to the doors.

EXCESSIVE SPEEDING
Jose O. Herrera, 21, Des Plaines was charged with speeding 40 mph over the posted limit at 9:46 p.m. on Sept. 25 in the 2500 block of Willow Road. Officers were on patrol along the 2500 block of Willow Rd when the defendant’s was observed traveling at 81 mph in a posted 40 mph zone.

RETAIL THEFT
A store employee at the DSW Shoe Warehouse in the 100 block of Skokie Boulevard reported that two females came into the business and walked to the purse section at 5:10 p.m. on Oct. 4. After a short time one of the females grabbed two purses from a display shelf and ran out of the store followed by the other female. The items stolen were a Betsy Johnson cross body bag valued at $69.65 and a Nine West satchel valued at $39.95.

RETAIL THEFT
Alicia Guzman-Hernandez, 29, of Mexico City was charged with felony retail theft at Nieman Marcus in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road at 7:20 p.m. on Sept. 30. The complainant, a store loss prevention employee, observed the defendant on a security camera removing 16 men’s dress shirts from a store display shelf and placing them into a foil lined bag. The defendant then exited the store past the last register failing to pay for the merchandise that she had placed into the bag. According to the store loss prevention agent the 16 shirts are valued at $6,060.
